The Dwelling Series is a triptych of vocal works Dwelling/In Dialogue, Dwelling/Encounters and Dwelling/In Reflection.

All three were composed by a method of recording, layering and editing multiple real-time improvisations created in MAXMSP, with each of the works having a different performance output.

Dwelling/In Dialogue (17′)

is a fixed medium work for stereo or multiple speaker diffusion

Dwelling/Encounters (18’30)

Created in 2008, Encounters had two live performers and a fixed medium component projected through multiple loud speakers.  Céline Hänni, a Swiss vocal performer, and I undertook an intensive period of working together to explore extended technique vocal improvisation that culminated in the final performance.

Dwelling/In Reflection (12’30)

is a live, interactive solo voice work.
